Well-known international stars seize Best Players Awards for the League Round

Luxembourg, January 22, 2010. Many Volleyball stars – actually the absolute majority of the international elite – are competing in the CEV Indesit Champions League and with their stellar performances they all provided their fans with something to cheer about over the last couple of months. So, with the League Round having come to an exciting and thrilling end this past Wednesday and the charts of the Best Players being completed, the European Volleyball Confederation is proud to announce the names of those that will be officially awarded during their respective first home match slated for the upcoming Playoffs 12. Detailed classifications are available here, with the specification that players included in the roster of teams did not make it to the Playoffs were not eligible for the Awards as per the information that was already sent out at the beginning of the season.The list of the Best Players for the Men’s League Round includes:
Best Scorer: Ivan Miljkovic (SRB/Olympiacos PIRAEUS)
Best Spiker: Osmany Juantorena Portuondo (CUB/TRENTINO BetClic)
Best Blocker: Marko Podrascanin (SRB/Lube Banca Marche MACERATA)
Best Server: Clayton Stanley (USA/Zenit KAZAN)
Best receiver: Georgios Stefanou (GRE/Olympiacos PIRAEUS)
Best Players for the Women’s League Round are:
Best Scorer: Neslihan Darnel (TUR/VakifGunesTTelekom ISTANBUL)
Best Spiker: Christiane Fürst (GER/Volley BERGAMO)
Best Blocker: Ekaterina Krivets (RUS/Universitet BELGOROD)
Best Server: Milada Spalova (CZE/Modranska PROSTEJOV)
Best receiver: Marketa Tomanova (CZE/Modranska PROSTEJOV)
*Note: The Awards for Best Spiker, Best Blocker, Best Server and Best Receiver were attributed combining the net performances of the players (i.e. spikes, aces, etc.) with their efficiency (%)
