LAS PALMAS WANT TO DEFEND THEIR UNBEATEN STATUS

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, November 30, 2005. Hotel Cantur will defend their status of unbeaten team in the Champions League tomorrow at 18.00hrs local time in the Centro Insular de Deportes facing powerful French RC CANNES. Undertaking this venture won’t be easy, as the visitors have already won two European Champions' League awards and they are also the undisputed leaders of their country’s league.

The Spanish have booked three victories in three matches and they will play their fourth match at home, whilst the French, serious contenders to pass to the next round, have won two matches with losing their last one against Italian BERGAMO. Last year CANNES beat LAS PALMAS in Gran Canaria by 1:3.

The team coached by Sergio Miguel Camarero will count on the debut of US-American Stacy Sykora, who really longs for playing “in the European League and winning because that’s the reason I signed with this team”, stated the player.

Spanish head coach Sergio Camarero said that “winning won’t be easy at all, even if we have won all the previous matches, as the French are amongst the best on the continent. However, if we do manage to win, we will take an important step forward in order to be amongst the top six of the European Champions' League."
