2006 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS DRAWING OF LOTS IN TOKYO
FIVB World Championship 2006
Lausanne, October 21, 2005. All set for the
2006 FIVB World Championships "Drawing of Lots" Ceremony to be held in
Tokyo, Japan on the 29th November 2005 at 15.00hrs when forty eight
(48) national men's and women's teams in front of TV cameras,
journalists and hundreds of fans will witness how the groups for the
2006 FIVB World Championships will be established.
After almost a year of fierce competitions in 52 tournaments around the
world the best 24 men's and 24 women's teams survived a series of 1st,
2nd, 3rd and playoff Continental Rounds up to a final success in
obtaining one of the fully paid vacancies leading to the 2006 World
Championships crown.
The 24 teams of each gender will be divided in four pools of six teams
each with a seeding of three of the top twelve teams of the World
Ranking established on 7th September 2005.
Japan as hosts will be seeded number 1 of Pool A and, following the
serpentine system, the other top ranked teams will follow in B, C, D
and back.
