Björn Berg/Robert Svensson and Karin Lundqvist/Sara Uddståhl Tour Champions

Solna, Sweden, August 15, 2005. Björn Berg and Robert Svensson and the women’s team Karin Lundqvist/Sara Uddståhl won the final leg of the National Circuit in Sweden “SverigeTouren”. The final which the best eight teams qualified for was held in Gothenburg from 11th to 13th August.

The World Tour team Björn Berg/Robert Svensson, 38th of the FIVB World Tour ranking, won the final against Per Köhler/Martin Woxlin, Champions from 2004, with 2:0 (21-16, 25-23). Before Berg/Svensson celebrated a 2:1 win over Mattias Magnusson/Hannes Brinkborg in the semi final. Köhler/Woxlin won their semi final against Simon Dahl/Stefan Gunnarsson with 2:1.

Simon Dahl played two Olympics together with Björn Berg. Two weeks ago Simon Dahl/Stefan Gunnarsson became Swedish National Champions! So Björn Berg and Simon Dahl have one title each since the split last autumn.

In the women’s competition Karin Lundqvist/Sara Uddståhl, 51st of the World Tour ranking, had a more comfortable journey to the title, having won the last editon as well. In the final they beat Mia Tvede/Anne-Lie Andersson 2:0 (21-15, 21-27).

Robert Svensson and Sara Uddståhl received the Mikasa MVP award (Best player in the final).

Martin Woxlin and Karin Lundqvist won the Swatch Best Scorer Award in the tournament (serve, block and spikes).
