EIGHT WOMEN’S TEAMS READY TO QUALIFY FOR 2006 FIVB GRAND PRIX

FIVB World Grand Prix 2006 - European Qualification

Luxembourg, July 22, 2005. Poland, Turkey, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Bulgaria, Rumania and Azerbaijan are the eight teams who will compete for the three places in the FIVB World Grand Prix 2006 during next week’s European Qualification Tournament in Quba (AZE). Italy are directly qualified for the 2006 FIVB World Grand Prix hosting the Final Round. 

The teams participating in the 2005 European Qualification Tournament are the organiser and the best seven ranked teams from the 2003 European Championships Final Round (excluding sixth ranked Italy who are directly qualified as the organiser of the FIVB World Grand Prix Final Round from 24th to 26th June 2006 in Reggio Calabria). Another three European teams stand the chance to join the Italians in the Final Round when meeting one another in a Single Round Robin system in the Azerbaijan city of Quba from 26th to 31st July 2005.

The European Qualification Tournament for the 2006 FIVB World Grand Prix will be transmitted by ‘Eurosport International’ and the recently launched ‘Eurosport 2’ channel. Please find the detailed TV schedule at the bottom of this page or on the CEV website at www.cev.lu.
