MESSAGE ON A BOTTLE
Nestea European Championship Tour 2005
Message on a bottleTwo young men from Switzerland are the winners of the consumer promotion that Nestea has implemented this summer
Valencia, 09 July 2005: Sometimes people have to be lead to their luck: Mike Wenger from Basel was out with two buddies from the military, having an iced-tea when his friends noticed a nine-digit Winning-Code on the label of the bottle: They sent an SMS to take part in the consumer promotion that Nestea offered this summer in Switzerland. "First I just wanted to throw the bottle away, but then I was persuaded to send the SMS", Wenger recalls.
A wise decision as it turned out: it did not take long for Wenger to receive the news that he had won a VIP-package for the Spanish Open 2005 presented by Comunidad Valenciana in Valencia. And so he and his friend Oliver Alanen (19), a Swiss-born Finn are now watching the Nestea European Championship Tour tournament from the VIP tribune.
Both lucky devils cannot hide the fact that the sport of Beach Volleyball is somewhat new to them: their attire demonstrates that. While Wenger wears an England football jersey with the number nine and the name "Rooney" on his back, Alanen follows the action on the court in a T-Shirt of the punk band "Die Toten Hosen". The newcomers however did not take long to become experts of the formerly unknown sandy spectacle. Alanen thinks the plays the pros make on centre court are "absolutely fascinating" and his friend Wenger adds that it is "impressive what the athletes achieve in the deep sand."
But the action outside of centre court also offers many attractions like the Players' Night Party on Saturday night. And of course there are the famous Nesta Fun Girls that have especially caught the young men's fancy. The winners of the sweepstakes cannot only admire the beautiful Spanish dancers during their performances on centre court but also during breakfast in the hotel: "They are always at the table next to us", Oliver Alanen says. "It makes it pretty hard to concentrate on your scrambled eggs."
