 FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AIMING FOR THESSALONIKI

Friedrichshafen, Germany, March 7, 2005. In the last match of the Indesit European Champions League’s play-off round VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN will host Noliko MAASEIK on Tuesday, 8 March 2005 at 20.15 hrs.

The German team will take their chance of joining the Final Four of the highest competition in Europe for the third time after they reached the final stage in 1999 and 2000.
“We only have to win”, said Stelian Moculescu, knowing that this is a difficult task. Having to admit defeat a few times in series, Belgian Noliko will be hungry for victory and therefore very dangerous. Ten days ago MAASEIK had no chance against Knack ROESELARE in the semi-finals of the Belgian cup and have also lost their IECL home match against VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN 2:3.
On the other hand, the beginning of the year has proved very successful for the German team from Zeppelin-town FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, being at the top of the German Bundesliga, as well as winning the National Cup 2005 four weeks ago. Perhaps the IECL Final Four in Thessaloniki will be the next big success for FRIEDRICHSHAFEN.
“The team which will win on Tuesday books the ticket to Greece”, Moculescu said. He is sure of the spectators playing a decisive role in this encounter, which will be a clear advantage for the home team given that two weeks the Arena of Friedrichshafen was sold out with 4’200 spectators.
