Luxembourg, December 23, 2004. Following their ninth place at the Olympic Games 2004 in Athens, Greece, Björn Berg and Simon Dahl have decided not to continue as a couple in forthcoming beach volleyball tournaments.Berg/Dahl has been the most successful beach volleyball duo from
Sweden ever, playing together since 1997. With records such as fifth
place at the Senior European Championships 2004, ninth at the World
Championships 2003 as well as ninth at the Olympic Games 2004 an era is
over. In total the two Swedes played 73 World Tour competitions in
unison, reaching the Top Ten 19 times. On the national level they won
the Swedish Tour final five times. Björn Berg has a new competition
partner in Robert Svensson whereas Simon Dahl has not yet decided
whether or not to finally end his career.
