TWO LEADING TEAMS MEET AGAIN

Women's Indesit European Champions' League 2004/05

Novara, Italy, December 15, 2004. During the IECL drawing of lots it was decided that the paths of NOVARA and BAKU cross for the fifth and sixth leg of Pool B.

Only seven days after the match in Azerbaijan the Azerbaijani players are visiting Sant'Orsola Asystel. It will be a very interesting and challenging match between two clubs dominating the top of their pool.
Last week Mr Frigoni's team won in Azerbaijan achieving an important 3:0 victory, their sixth consecutive win in the most important European sporting event for clubs. The goal of De Carne and her team mates is to continue with this streak of success and a home win would almost guarantee first position in the second pool of the Indesit European Champions League. It won’t be easy however as the Azerbaijani team will try to prove that the defeat suffered seven days ago was only a one-off. The team of Azerrail is practically the same as the Azerbaijan national team: fourteen players that spend their time in a permanent training camp, only taking part in tournaments and friendly matches.
Mr. Faig Garayev's players are a young and physically very fit team from the Russian school, some measuring over 190 cm tall. Their talent and capability led them to reach the Final Four in Tenerife where they were defeated in the semi-final by the future European Champions. The match will take place at the Palasport Stefano Dal Lago at 20.30.
