ALMERIA MEETS TOURS VB IN FRANCE

Almeria, Spain, November 22, 2004. Unicaja ALMERIA reassumed their training this week in order to aim for their third victory in the Indesit European Champions League after their success of last week against SCC BERLIN. The team from Almeria will face their Pool C competitor TOURS VB from France.The Spanish champions will be travelling to France to prepare for their match on Thursday, November 25, 2004. Unicaja ALMERIA is currently ranked third in Pool C after the defeat against Sisley TREVISO and two victories, one against Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK and the other against SCC BERLIN. TOURS VB is on second position with two victories.
“If we beat the French champions, we’ll have made a very important step”, Unicaja ALMERIA meria coach Piero Molducci said. “I think that Sisley TREVISO will finish first and TOURS second. Therefore, we’ll have to compete for rank three.” The match is scheduled for Thursday evening at 20.00 CET in Salle Robert Grenon.

MATCH FOR POOL C LEAD
Tours, France, November 24, 2004. For their second match at home in the Indesit European Champions’ League the French team TOURS Volleyball, current Pool C co-leader, will meet Unicaja ALMERIA from Spain.
The venue of the team of Unicaja ALMERIA from Spain is very
important to the hosting club, TOURS Volleyball. Jean-Michel Barre, the
French club’s IECL organising director, explains that this
match will be very important for the future situation in this
pool. In fact, in case of defeat, ALMERIA will lose very important
points ending up at least two points away from the leaders after this
week’s matches have been played.
For this match TOURS will be able to play with a complete selection.
Pascal Foussard, technical director of TOURS VB said that the Spanish
team “is very competitive” and that their previous matches against
TREVISO and BERLIN have proven their strength demonstrating
serve efficiency (8 points against TREVISO, one of the best
receiving teams of the IECL competition) and some very strong players,
such as Peter Veres and Milan Vasic. The key of the match will be our
capacity to maintain a good reception throughout the encounter.”
The match is scheduled for Thursday evening at 20h00 in the "palais des
sports" in TOURS. It will be broacasted by SPORT+ (at 22h15).
