BARDOCZ/ALEXANDRU CLAIM THE BALKAN WOMEN'S SENIOR TITLE

Women's Senior Balkan Championships

Luxembourg, August 4, 2004. The Romanian duo Orsolya Bardocz/Irina Alexandru won the Senior Women Beach Volley Balkan Championships, which were held in Pogradec (ALB) from 24-25 July.  

Bardocz/Alexandru faced the strong Greek team Flora Iaonnidou/Athina Dilaveri in a final where the average age added up to 19 years. All four youngsters fought hard with Romania finally pulling through 15:12 in the tiebreak set. Albania secured the bronze medal when the Prenga sisters Amarilda and Ariola eliminated their compatriots Isaku/Kllogjeri in straight sets.
Silver medallist Flora Ioannidou was awarded MVP of the tournament.
