What have Volleyball stars been up to on their New Year’s Eve?
Miscellaneous

Luxembourg, January 1, 2018. Volleyball fans may wonder what their favourite players have been up to while celebrating the New Year’s Eve. With the help of social media, it is now quite easy to take a glimpse into their private lives – and it looks like apart from celebrating with their loved ones, many have taken a moment to look back at a truly successful and memorable year as well.

This is what Milena Rasic and Lonneke Slöetjes have rightfully done on their respective Instagram and Twitter accounts – following what has been a truly memorable year for both the star players of VakifBank, winners of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League as well as of the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship. Even though she almost did not play at all due to injury, Rasic also became a European champion with the Serbian national team while Slöetjes settled for the silver medal with the Netherlands while competing at the 2017 women’s EuroVolley in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The 2017 Male Volleyball Player, Maxim Mikhailov of Russia, did pretty much the same while posting a picture portraying him with wife Anastasia and little son Nikita – the always humble, yet terribly consistent Maxim collected as many as three gold medals in 2017 by combining the CEV Volleyball Champions League, the men’s EuroVolley and the Men’s Club World Championship.

Wilfredo Leon had quite something to be grateful for as well, also off the Volleyball court following the birth of a baby girl in 2017 to go with a Volleyball career, which is going from strength from strength:

These are only a few examples; you just have to spend a little time on social media to know more about what your favourite players have been doing while waiting for the dawn of 2018…
