Volleyball Federation of Armenia present 2017 awards to number of players, coaches and officials
News from the National Federations

Yerevan, Armenia, December 29, 2017. The Volleyball Federation of Armenia (VFA) organised on Friday a special ceremony to award players, coaches and referees standing out for their achievements in 2017.

Armen Varderesyan (KhMOMM) and Alexsandr Mamunc (Vanadzor) received the awards for the best coaches in youth competitions for girls and boys, respectively. Karen Shahbazyan (KhMOMM) and Karen Asmaryan were the recipients of the awards for the best coaches in the highest division of the women’s and men’s national leagues.

Aram Melqonyan (FIMA) and Veronika Koshkaryan (KhMOMM) were the winners of the awards for the best male and female players from the 2017 edition of the Armenian national league.

The prizes for the Beach Volleyball players of 2017 went to Edita Ghevondyan/Veronika Koshkaryan and Ashot Balabekyan/Andre Simoni.

Hovhannes Asmaryan received the VFA award for the ‘Referee of the Year’.

Upon initiative of the President of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia, special awards went to the following people:  

•    Albert Karapetyan for the excellent organisation of VFA sports events during 2017.
•    Irina Hovsepyan for her outstanding refereeing at Volleyball and Beach Volleyball competitions held in 2017.
•    Karine Serobyan and Narek Shirinyan for their outstanding refereeing at matches of the highest division of the Armenian national league.
Additionally, special prizes went to the following officials:
•    Ashot Balabekyan for his excellent work while refereeing at the 2017 U17 EEVZA Women’s Volleyball Championship held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
•    Grigori Ambaryan for his excellent work with Armenia’s national Beach Volleyball teams from 2014 to 2017.

The VFA presented thank you letters to:
•    Marol Aperyan for the long lasting work with Armenian youth teams.
•    Gayane Melqumyan for her excellent work with youth teams in Artsakh.
•    Armen Miskaryan and Razmik Hakobyan for the excellent results achieved while participating in EEVZA Beach Volleyball competitions.
