MEVZA look into promising future following AGM in Vienna
News from the Zonal Associations

Vienna, Austria, November 16, 2017. This year’s MEVZA General Assembly took place in Vienna on Tuesday, November 14. Presidents and Secretary Generals from six of the seven member countries attended the Meeting in “Komensky School”. Chaired by former and new president Karl Hanzl, the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association (MEVZA) is having a straight look forward.

“In the last two years we strengthened our organisation in all aspects and started an ambitious and essential change project. A lot of initiatives have started and we can look straight forward,” President Hanzl opened the meeting. After a brief presentation of the past and a promising look into the future by the old Board members, the election for the following term brought all unanimous results for President and Vice-Presidents.

The representatives of the MEVZA countries showed great interest in developing the portfolio of their Zonal Association together, starting with a fruitful discussion in Vienna – with two further meetings fixed in January and February. These meetings will serve to work together on strategies for the further development of Beach Volleyball and of the MEVZA Cup as well.

“The MEVZA countries represent a very interesting geographical region with attractive business opportunities for sponsors and partners. Completed with Volleyball as a congenial and attractive sport, MEVZA is looking into a very promising future, with all interested parties sticking together for the improvement of our sport,” Gernot Leitner, President of the hosting Austrian Volleyball Federation (OeVV), said.
