Lots of positives and ambitious plans emerge from annual OSCG General Assembly
News from the National Federations

Podgorica, Montenegro, October 4, 2017. The annual General Assembly of the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro (OSCG) took place at KIC Budo Tomovic in Podgorica. Cvetko Pajković, OSCG President, chaired the meeting together with Secretary General Ivan Bošković, and OSCG Competitions Director, Miloš Jovanović.

Out of 26 delegates eligible to attend, 16 participated in the meeting. Apart from receiving the approval for the minutes of last year’s Assembly and the financial report up until the end of August 2017, the OSCG could proudly look back at the three medals won at this year’s Balkan Championships (silver with their youth girls’ team and bronze in the men’s and women’s divisions). This is the best-ever result for the Balkan country since its independence in 2006.

Mr Pajković also pointed out at the importance of the youth competition, the Jugopetrol EKO Mini Volleyball league, successfully introduced in the country with participation of many young boys and girls.

The Assembly adopted the plans drafted for 2018, which focus on participation of the country’s national teams in all major international competitions organised by CEV and FIVB.

Mr Jovanović announced that nine teams (Luka Bar, Galeb, Rudar, Bududnost Bemax, Gimnazijalac, Nikšid, Herceg Novi, Budvanska Rivijera Budva, Morača) will participate in the first division of the women’s national league; another 13 compose the second division (Ibar, Gorštak, Jedinstvo Bemax, Ivangrad 2011, Volley Star, Morača 2, Libero, Luka Bar 2, Gimnazijalac 2, Albatros, Galeb 2, Mediteran and Mladost Tivat). After the withdrawal of Budvanska Rivijera due to financial problems, five teams (Buducnost Capital Plaza, Jedinstvo Bemax, Sutjeska, Volley Star and Bar Volley) will contest the 2017-2018 edition of the men’s national league. At the end of the assembly, the delegates received copy of the competition schedule prepared for this year’s national championship.
