News from the National Federations

Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, September 25, 2017. The Volleyball club Smeč from the city of Novi Grad – with the support of the Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – played host to a Cool Volley Festival held this past Saturday and Sunday.

The aim of this festival was to popularise Volleyball across the Balkan country and to draw further attention to the game from fans and media alike. Much of the focus was on young girls whose task, in addition to participating in the competition, was to contribute to other aspects in the preparation and delivery of the event. The festival was actually an international youth competition in order to achieve cross-border cooperation, while fostering reconciliation, friendship between young people, and much more.

The Cool Volley Festival in Novi Grad gathered as many as 311 young girls representing 11 Volleyball clubs, who competed in four different age groups as follows:

Born in 2009 and 2010
Born in 2007 and 2008
Born in 2005 and 2006
Born in 2003 and 2004

Matches took place on 18 ‘modified’ Volleyball courts. At the end of the festival, all participants received awards and gold medals as well.
