CEV join in celebrations for France’s second World League title
News from the CEV

Paris, France, July 10, 2017. On Saturday, France and their superstar Earvin Ngapeth silenced as many as 23,000 Brazilian fans in Curitiba as they triumphed with their second gold medal from the FIVB Volleyball World League in three years. After recovering from an injury he suffered earlier this spring, Ngapeth was the real ‘man of the match’ and received the award for the Most Valuable Player of the Finals.

This success represents a lot not only for France’s Volleyball, but for the whole European Volleyball family as well. On Monday, CEV Vice President and Treasurer Özkan Mutlugil and CEV Marketing Advisor Zoran Avramovic travelled to Paris to ‘mingle’ with Les Bleus and share the celebrations for their achievement together with the President of the French Volleyball Federation, Mr Eric Tanguy.

France will be trying to repeat their success from the 2015 season when they won their first World League title before claiming gold from the men’s EuroVolley as well. If history sometimes repeats itself, Les Bleus will be a major force to reckon with later this summer when they try to retain their continental crown at EUROVOLLEY POLAND 2017 starting from the pool phase in Katowice where they will take on the national teams of Belgium, the Netherlands and Turkey.
