Hypo Tirol and Mladost ZAGREB record fourth win in men’s MEVZA Cup

Vienna, Austria, January 15, 2017. When playing on Sunday their second and last MEVZA Cup home match in Innsbruck, Austria’s national champions Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK left no chance at all to their rivals from Vegyesz RC KAZINCBARCIKA (HUN), thus cruising to another impressive straight-sets (25-14, 25-21, 25-15) victory.

As a result, last year’s silver medal winners drew level with Slovakia’s Bystrina SPU NITRA and Croatia’s Mladost ZAGREB in the standing of the competition. On Sunday, the Croatian side claimed a 3-1 (28-26, 25-23, 20-25, 25-23) win over Spartak MYJAVA of Slovakia.  

Reigning MEVZA Cup champions ACH Volley LJUBLJANA currently top the charts on sixteen points with two matches left in the regular season followed by Hypo Tirol, Bystrina SPU NITRA and Mladost ZAGREB, all on twelve points.
