AVC Vice-President Ahmad visits CEV headquarters
News from the CEV
Luxembourg, May 13, 2014. On Tuesday CEV President André Meyer could welcome to Luxembourg City Mr. Essa Hamzah Ahmad of Kuwait, one of the Zonal Vice Presidents of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC). Mr. Meyer exploited this opportunity to discuss various items of common interest and to review the current activities and future plans of the respective Confederations.
The illustrious guest from Kuwait – who is also the Treasurer of the Asian Volleyball Confederation – was impressed with the state-of-the-art premises where the CEV headquarters have moved since February 2013 as well as with the quality of the infrastructure available at what stands out as a real “home” set up for Europe’s Volleyball family.
“I was pleased with the opportunity to exchange views with our guest from Kuwait,” CEV President André Meyer says. “We share the same commitment and dedication to the cause of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball and though there might be some cultural differences we nevertheless could easily identify a common and very solid background that unites us and our respective Confederations: our passion for Volleyball and our willingness to raise its profile to new heights.”
The two parties expressed their intention to closely work together for the good of the sport and to support, as far as possible, their respective activities and projects. “We are all members of the same Volleyball family,” CEV President André Meyer concludes, “where different visions and ideas can only help us make sure as many youngsters as possible will be mesmerized by our wonderful sport. This is our ultimate, common goal.”
