News from the clubs
Beograd, Serbia, October 7, 2013. In a couple of weeks Serbia’s champions Crvena Zvezda BEOGRAD will embark on their fourth consecutive campaign in Europe’s elite club competition, the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League. On Monday a press conference was held to discuss the goals and expectations of the team.
“It is a very great honour to be able to participate in this elite competition” said head coach Ratko Pavlicevic. “It is important that our club was able to find the resources needed for this campaign so that our young but promising players can get to test the best teams in Europe. Our expectations are not that high but we hope that our quality, youth and enthusiasm will surprise our opponents”.
“I am very happy that our club will compete once more against the top teams in Europe” added team captain Julia Milovits. “This is a great opportunity to see where we stand and get more experience on the international stage. We know we can learn a lot from our opponents as we will get to play some of the best Volleyball players in the world. I am proud of my team and I believe we can achieve good results though we are still young and inexperienced”.
“This is the third season we were assigned to the same prelim pool as Dinamo MOSCOW of Russia” stressed wing-spiker Ljubica Kecman. “We know we won’t have an easy run but still want to display our best and show what we are capable of”.
