Bulgaria’s Sports Minister confirms full support to 2015 EuroVolley

Copenhagen, Denmark, September 29, 2013. Shortly before the start of the bronze medal match starring Bulgaria and Serbia, CEV President André Meyer had a short meeting with Mrs. Mariyana Georgieva, Bulgaria’s Youth and Sports Minister, who later on cheered from the stands of Parken stadium the team captained by Todor Aleksiev.
“We had a very pleasant talk with the Sports Minister and Mrs. Georgieva confirmed her full support to the EuroVolley that Bulgaria will be co-hosting with Italy in 2015” Mr. Meyer said. “She did also make sure that the government will be supporting the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation in their effort to deliver a world-class Championship and that the arena in Varna will undergo a major renovation so as to comply with the highest international standards come 2015”.
On Saturday morning, within the frame of the XXXIV CEV General Assembly, Bulgaria had already showcased their plans for the 2015 EuroVolley that will take place in Sofia and Varna – as well as in Catania and Messina, Italy – with the finals to be hosted in Bulgaria’s most modern and largest sports hall, the splendid Armeec Arena in Sofia.
