29 teams set to participate in fourth stop of EEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour
News from the Zonal Associations

Riga, Latvia, July 24, 2013. With only a few days left before the start of the 2013 CEV A1 Beach Volleyball European Championship Final in Klagenfurt, 29 men’s duos from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine will participate this weekend in the fourth stop of this year’s EEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour. The tournament is included also on the program of the Latvian national championship sponsored by insurance company ERGO and will take place at “Brazilija” sports center in Latvia’s capital city, Riga.
A press conference was held on Wednesday to introduce the media and the fans to the event that is set to start on Thursday. “This year we have a very busy summer season here in Latvia” said the President of the Latvian Volleyball Federation, Atis Sausnitis. “This would be unthinkable and just impossible without the support provided by strong partners. We are therefore very grateful to the ERGO insurance company for they have decided to sponsor the national championship and this stop of the EEVZA Tour here in our country” he continued.
“The EEVZA Tour got more value this year for FIVB ranking points are at stake” added the Beach Volleyball Coordinator of the Latvian Volleyball Federation, Mr. Egils Cirulis. “As per the rules that were determined by the FIVB, only three tournaments included in a zonal tour can allocate such points and for this edition of the EEVZA Tour that was the case last week in Pärnu, Estonia, as well as this weekend here in Riga before the final stage scheduled for late August in Moscow, Russia”.
