Atom Trefl completes roster by signing Belgian national team player
News from the clubs
Sopot, Poland, June 12, 2013. Atom Trefl SOPOT recently completed its roster for the 2013/2014 season by signing Charlotte Leys, a member of Belgium’s national team. She has been contracted for one season with the option for another year.
“I am convinced that Charlotte will bring much quality and stability to our reception. We needed someone like her and I am happy that she has finally decided to join us for the next season” says club President Roman Szczepan Kniter. Leys started her career in Belgium playing there for Asterix KIELDRECHT for three seasons, winning twice the national league and the national cup. She made it to the final of the Challenge Cup in 2010 losing there to DRESDNER SC of Germany. She then moved to Poland playing first for GCB Centrostal BYDGOSZCZ and then – in 2011 – to Tauron MKS DABROWA GORNICZA. With this club she won twice Poland’s national cup and claimed one silver and one bronze medal in the national league where she was ranked among the top 10 receivers of the past season.
“The character, personality and commitment she has been always showing on the court did convince us that she will fit to our team. She is a hard-working player and we have scouted her very carefully also in the matches of the Championship series with Tauron MKS” concludes Kniter.
