George Gagalis strengthens CEV Beach Volleyball Department

Luxembourg, June 11, 2013. Since a couple of weeks George Gagalis has joined the staff of the CEV headquarters in Luxembourg City thereby helping expand the Beach Volleyball Department. A former Volleyball player in Greece’s first and second division, Gagalis is well-known to the European Volleyball family for he did work for many years for the Hellenic Volleyball Federation being responsible there for Beach Volleyball thereby marketing and developing the sport across Greece.
Gagalis is also a former member of the European Beach Volleyball Commission (EBVC) and as such did attend several CEV tournaments and Championships in the past years as Technical Supervisor. Gagalis brings a lot of experience in Beach Volleyball as well as in organizing major events for he was part of the Organizing Committee of the 2004 Olympics in Athens, the 2006 Asian Games in Doha (Qatar) as well as the 2011 Special Olympics, the “Olympiad” specifically conceived for athletes with intellectual disabilities that two years ago did also take place in Athens.
With a degree in Physical Education and Sports from the University of Thrace and an Msc in Recreation Management from the University of Loughborough, England, Gagalis has got a strong background when it comes to understanding the sport and delivering first-class events.
Gagalis will join forces and share the same position with CEV Beach Volleyball Coordinator Dennis Passig to supervise the organization of all Beach Volleyball competitions placed under the authority of CEV and work on all other ongoing projects specifically devoted to Beach Volleyball.
