Tauron MKS signs 2008 Olympic champion Sassá

Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland, June 10, 2013. Tauron MKS DABROWA GORNICZA – that is set to compete for the second consecutive year in the CEV Volleyball Champions League – did recently announce the transfer of Brazilian international star Welissa Gonzaga aka Sassá.
Gonzaga – who stands at 179 cm – is a 2008 Olympic champion and a two-time silver medalist at the FIVB World Championship (2006 and 2010). She is supposed to strengthen the defense line of Tauron MKS. “She was chosen for her great skills in offense as well as in reception. She has got a very impressive resume and we count on her experience” says local press officer Michal Swarlik.
This is the very first time she is moving to a foreign league having spent her entire career in her native Brazil. She likes reading books by Paulo Coelho, playing guitar, dancing samba and loves Italian food. She has signed for one year and is supposed to turn into one of the driving forces for Tauron MKS in the 2013/2014 season.
