Two female bus drivers under the spotlight in Ivanjica
2013 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship - European Qualification
Ivanjica, Serbia, May 8, 2013. Danijela Petković and Snežana Živković, the two female bus drivers of “Lasta” company that is responsible for the transportation of teams and officials at the qualification tournament currently running in Arilje and Ivanjica are the absolute hit among the participating teams. They impress with the way they steer giant buses and cruise every day between the cities of Ivanjica and Arilje back and forth, transiting more than 100 km.
“It is a great experience for us and we enjoy transporting these young and talented sportsmen. We both come from the city of Smederevo and we have never driven here before, so it is a new experience for us. However, I would like to praise our cooperation with the police forces in Arilje and Ivanjica. They are helping us a lot” said Danijela Petković, a former handball player.
Snežana Živković is a former volleyball player, and she finds the event in Arilje especially interesting. “I am following the matches with great passion and, of course, I am cheering for Serbia. Nevertheless, the other teams are very nice too, especially the Spaniards. I was driving their team to Ivanjica from Belgrade Airport, so I got to know them well. After a couple of overtaking manoeuvres I made during our little trip, they went silent and the next hundred kilometres you could only hear they were eating their sandwiches” Snežana revealed.
