Csaba Poór assumes leadership of Hungary's Volleyball family
News from the National Federations
Budapest, Hungary, May 6, 2013. Csaba Poór was elected this past weekend President of the Hungarian Volleyball Federation after receiving 39 out of the 55 votes cast by the delegates that attended the General Assembly. He takes over the leadership of the local Volleyball family after former President Tamás Tóth had stepped down this past April 4 thereby calling for a General Assembly.
“I have got the responsibility to chair Hungary’s Volleyball family and represent its interests” Poór said after his election. “I have talked to many people before the General Assembly and was briefed about the problems the Federation has been facing in recent times” says the young founder and general manager of CME Hungary Zrt., a marketing and communication agency.
He insisted on the necessity to get government funding in order to be able to work on a long-term strategic plan and to increase the popularity of Volleyball in Hungary. “The message that comes out from this General Assembly is that our Volleyball family wants to work hard to get back its credibility and enjoy full support from our national authorities” Poór stressed.
After the General Assembly the composition of the Board of Administration chaired by Poór was also announced with the following members: Adam Baran, Sandor Beke, Robert Kasa, Arpad Kosa, Eva Laszlo, Zsolt Ludvig, Lajos Nemeth, Zsolt Odor, Tamas Sardi and Gabriella Vatai.
