European members get together on eve of FIVB Board meeting

Luxembourg, April 4, 2013. On the eve of the FIVB Board of Administration that runs through Thursday and Friday, the European members got the opportunity to meet in Lausanne to find a consensus on the various issues to be discussed by the world’s governing body of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.
The European delegation led by CEV President André Meyer includes also CEV Senior Vice President Aleksandar Boricic (SRB), CEV Vice Presidents Renato Arena (ITA), Philip Berben (BEL), Agustin Martin Santos (ESP) and Miroslaw Przedpelski (POL) plus FIVB Board members Stanislav Shevchenko (RUS) and Vicente Goncalves de Araujo (POR). Two more distinguished personalities – i.e. FIVB Honorary Executive Vice President Theofanis Tsiokris (GRE) and FIVB Executive Co-Opted Member Carlo Magri (ITA) – complete the European “contingent” there in Lausanne where proposals of the FIVB Commissions – already reviewed on Wednesday by the Executive Committee – will be evaluated with the goal to find ways to modernize FIVB and the sport of Volleyball.
