CEV Satellite in Antalya writes history with "most-crowded" Main Draw ever

Antalya, Turkey, April 3, 2013. A “second” technical meeting was held on Wednesday evening at Side Star Hotel in Antalya this time with the attendance of the players that are set to join the Main Draw of the CEV Satellite tournament running this week in Turkey’s most popular seaside resort. This was the most-crowded technical meeting in history for a CEV Satellite as for the very first time the Main Draw is being joined by 32 teams per gender.
The meeting was chaired by CEV Supervisor Dirk Decher (SUI) and attended also by Referee Delegate Bert van der Heul (NED), Tournament Director Oguz Degirmenci, as well as by Competition Director Roland Höfer and NF delegate Erkal Tas.
CEV Supervisor Dirk Decher opened the meeting and welcomed all players sharing some info about the tournament schedule and other competition-related matters.
NF delegate Erkal Tas and Tournament Director Oguz Degirmenci welcomed all players and expressed their happiness for having such elite and successful pairs competing in Turkey for the first tournament of the year. They both wished good luck to all teams and said they’d be really happy to assist them in case of need.
Competition Director Roland Höfer gave information about the location of the courts on the beach and about the uniforms that the players will be wearing once the Main Draw starts on Thursday morning.
Referee Delegate Bert van der Heul started his speech by introducing the referees and followed up by briefing the players about the changes introduced in the rules of the game for this year, being ready to answer their eventual questions in order to dissipate any doubts before the start of the competition.
