CEV President praises work of Turkish Federation and memorable final four
News from the CEV

Istanbul, Turkey, March 9, 2013. On Saturday evening CEV President André Meyer and the members of the CEV Executive Committee were hosted by the Turkish Volleyball Federation for an official dinner that rounded off their meeting in Turkey’s megalopolis and followed the semis of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League played earlier in the afternoon at Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall. The Del-Mare Restaurant situated right on the banks of the Bosphorus did welcome the CEV Executive Committee and Turkey’s Volleyball authorities.
The Turkish Volleyball Federation was represented by President Özkan Mutlugil, Vice Presidents Mehmet Akif Ustundag, Alper Sedat Aslandas and Mustafa Eksi, Board members Hasan Burak Sertcan, Suat Güler, Bahar Mert Ucoklar and Ahmet Goksu, plus FIVB Refereing Commission member Umit Sokullu, and ERC (European Refereeing Commission) member Nihat Ermihan.

CEV President André Meyer – whose birthday is coming up on Sunday, March 10 – got the opportunity to celebrate that anniversary beforehand; TVF President Özkan Mutlugil used this chance to make a short speech to congratulate the CEV President on his birthday and expressed also his gratitude for the support provided by CEV in the organization of the final four taking place this weekend in Istanbul. On Sunday the local heroines of Vakifbank ISTANBUL will try to claim the trophy for the second time by playing – as they did back in 2011 - once more Azerbaijan's Rabita BAKU in the final act of the competition.

CEV President André Meyer thanked the Turkish Volleyball Federation and all officials for their warm hospitality as well as for the professional and outstanding set up of the women’s final four that is being hosted by the club of Galatasaray.
