Unendo Yamamay goes for golden set to compensate for away defeat

Busto Arsizio, Italy, January 22, 2013. After confirming its leadership in the standings of the national league by edging former European standout Foppapedretti BERGAMO this past Sunday, Unendo Yamamay BUSTO ARSIZIO is getting ready for the second fixture with Germany’s SCHWERINER SC whose outcome will determine the side making it to the Playoffs 6 of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League.
The players around head coach Carlo Parisi need to score a home win and to claim the golden set to advance to the next stage of the competition after their 2:3 loss last week in Germany. This is a crucial moment for Unendo Yamamay before the group will enjoy a break of two weeks also in the domestic arena. “As we edged BERGAMO playing good Volleyball we got the right boost for our next clash with SCHWERINER SC” says middle blocker Valentina Arrighetti. “We will be determined right from the start and feel ready also for the golden set. As we play the return match at home, we definitely shall exploit that advantage since our fans are simply great and can boost us to another success”. If they make it through this round, the players captained by Christina Bauer will play in the Playoffs 6 the winner of the Azeri derby starring Azerrail and Lokomotiv BAKU, i.e. the side that this year was joined by former Yamamay star Aneta Havlickova.
