News from the clubs
Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland, December 5, 2012. After their straight win on Tuesday as they hosted Germany’s DRESDNER SC, the players of Tauron MKS DABROWA GORNICZA still have got the chance to make it to the Playoffs 12 of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women. The local heroines even stormed back from 21:24 in the first set to eventually wrap it up in three, straight sets (27-25, 25-17, and 25-23).
“As we were trailing there in the first set our coach opted for a double substitution while our opponents made some mistakes. This helped us turn the charts around” says local star Natalia Nuszel. In the second and third set DRESDNER SC did definitely not show their quality and had problems in controlling the serves unleashed by Maja Tokarska, Ivana Plchotova and Elzbieta Skowronska. Natalia Nuszel did also her job in offense. “We are very happy with this win and I think the first set was the turning point in the match” says the 23-year old spiker. A real marathon is coming up in the next days as Tauron will fly on Sunday to Istanbul to play there Eczacibasi VitrA on Tuesday for the last round of the prelims and then back there will be a match of the national league in Bialystok. “We are getting used to travel so extensively, so this is not a big deal for us” concludes Nuszel.
