Fan day turns into fun day in Friedrichshafen
News from the clubs
Friedrichshafen, Germany, October 8, 2012. Last Saturday the roars from the fans and the beats of their drums were heard for the first time since last season at the ZF Arena. It was a warm up for the upcoming season with new hopes and more challenges as the supporters cheered for the YoungStars Team, the second team from the club based on the shores of the Bodensee.
The “blue bears”, the official fan club from VfB, organized a meeting and some chats with this season’s players.
A week away from the official team presentation scheduled for this coming Friday, October 12, the fans gathered all club members to spend some time together.
After joining a special barbecue the fans received their seasonal pass and went on to support the YoungStars team playing in the second division of the Bundesliga. While coming together the fans announced their trip to Innsbruck for the first Champions League match that is coming up on October 24. “We had a warm welcome and it is good to feel the big support from our fans”, said Puerto Rican spiker Jose Rivera. “We will do our best to keep their enthusiasm for our team”.
In the last days of preparation for the upcoming season the “Häfler” are getting ready on and off of the court. On Wednesday there will be the official opening press conference for the media to present the team and their national and international goals. Next on schedule is the team presentation in ZF Arena and on Monday, October 15, there will be the premiere of the Bundesliga between the local heroes and last year’s champions of BERLIN Recycling Volleys.
