Jihostroj gears up for start of coming season
News from the clubs
Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, October 4, 2012. Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE feels ready for the start of the coming season where the Czechs will participate once more in the CEV Volleyball Champions League.
The group has undergone some changes as middle blocker Stepan Smrcka has retired from the sport while opposite Radek Motys has moved to Belgium to play there for Prefaxis MENEN.
“For this season we have added three players to our roster, namely middle blocker Vladimir Sobotka, wing spiker Peter Platenik and opposite Michal Krisko” says head coach Jan Svoboda.
“We have quite evidently very high ambitions as we want to reach the finals in the national league and claim good results also in the CEV Volleyball Champions League. We were drawn to a difficult Pool including Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK, BERLIN Recycling Volleys as well as Budvanska Rivijera BUDVA, so it is difficult to make any predictions. We still will fight for every single point even against the strongest opponents. Lokomotiv is the clear-cut favorite of the group” he concludes.
