RC CANNES goes for combination of experience and youth for coming season
News from the clubs

Cannes, France, September 22, 2012. After a long summer break, RC CANNES is currently getting ready for the start of the 2012/2013 season where last year’s runner-ups will join once again the CEV Volleyball Champions League, having been assigned by the DOL to a demanding Pool including Vakifbank ISTANBUL of Turkey, Volero ZÜRICH of Switzerland and Uralochka-NTMK EKATERINBURG of Russia. The event was attended by club President Anny Courtade, the Mayor of Cannes, Bernard Brochand, representatives of the sponsors and other local authorities.
The upcoming campaign was officially presented this past Friday at “Plage du Festival”, a splendid restaurant situated right on the prominent and worldwide known “Boulevard de la Croisette”.
Since six players have left the club, RC CANNES has signed a group of young ladies to support those who have remained there on the French Riviera and possibly compose a strong and very competitive group. Team captain Victoria Ravva, plus Nadia Centoni (ITA), Milena Rasic and Ana Antonijevic (SRB), Tetyana Kozlova (UKR), Sophie Peron and Jelena Lozancic have all decided to prolong their stay in Cannes and to embark on another campaign to represent the likes of this glorious club.  The group coached by Chinese-born head coach Yan Fang will include also Swedish twins and outside hitters Alexandra and Rebecka Lazic (18 years of age), Belgian setter Ilka Van de Vyver (19), Serbian spiker Brankica Mihajlovic (21), middle blocker Freya Aelbrecht (BEL, 22), plus libero Chiara Arcangeli (ITA, 29) and Belarusian outside hitter Tatsiana Markevich (24).
