Dragutin Baltic takes over coaching position at Volero ZURICH
News from the clubs

Zurich, Switzerland, September 11, 2012. One day after informing that Svetlana Ilic is leaving to Russia to mentor there Dinamo MOSCOW, Swiss sensation Volero ZURICH announced that the team will be coached for the coming season by 49-year old Dragutin Baltic from Slovenia.
Baltic traveled to Zurich on Monday night and already supervised a first training session on Tuesday. After having a few meetings and exploring some options, the management of Volero feels confident and convinced that Baltic will be able to pursue the strategy set by the club. He will be on the bench for the friendly match against ASPTT MULHOUSE of France, another competitor in the 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League. “It was very important for us to find a wise solution before the start of the domestic season on Saturday” says club President Stav Jacobi. “Baltic is a well-known coach in Europe and shares a successful philosophy with us. We are sure that he will be able to lead our group to achieve the goals we have set”.
Baltic is an FIVB Level II coach and has been coaching Volleyball teams for the past 23 years.
Last year he was the head coach of Lokomotiv BAKU – winner of the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup and runner-up of the national league. He has claimed the national league with Rabita BAKU, ACH Volley BLED and Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR in his native Slovenia. He was also the head coach of Slovenia’s national team from 2006 to 2008 and briefly coached Bulgaria in 2011. He was a competitive Volleyball player back in the ‘80s for the clubs of OK Krajina Metal BIHAC and OK Stavbar MARIBOR.
