CEV President visits CAVB premises in Cairo along with FIVB delegation

Cairo, Egypt, August 30, 2012. CEV President André Meyer was recently part of an FIVB delegation – including FIVB President Jizhong Wei and FIVB 2nd Executive Vice President Theofanis Tsiokris – that visited the premises of the African Volleyball Confederation in Cairo.
The FIVB officials were briefed by CAVB President Amr Elwani about the activities promoted by the African Confederation and much attention was devoted also to the Continental Cup, as this event did significantly expand – also in Europe – the number of National Federations actively involved in Beach Volleyball and in the Olympic qualification process.
Mr. Wei, Mr. Tsiokris and Mr. Meyer enjoyed also a short tour of the Egyptian capital by visiting the pyramids as well as the world-known Egyptian Museum.
