Countdown has started for U20 Champs in Hartberg
2012 CEV U20 Beach Volleyball European Championship
Hartberg, Austria, August 6, 2012. The city of Hartberg will be hosting the upcoming U20 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship through August 16-19 and the preparations for this event are running at full speed.
The marvelous stadium, set up in the old town’s square (see picture), has a capacity of up to 1,100 spectators. It promises a breathtaking atmosphere during the event and invites fans to watch Beach Volleyball at its best. The second venue, the side court area, offers perfect conditions and is ready for the warm-up event, the ARGE trophy. On August 11 amateur teams will compete and determine the city’s champion. They will then enjoy the OC’s commitment to the event. “Currently the staff is working day and night to set up a memorable event”, says Markus Gaugl, chief of the local OC.
Meanwhile the entry list for the Championship is getting ready and predicts an exciting tournament. Austria will be represented by two pairs in the women’s competition. The defending champions and local heroines Katharina Schützenhöfer/Lena Plesiutschnig and the newcomers Strauss/Strauss will try to win a medal for the host country. In the men’s competition Lorenz Petutschnig and Christoph Dressler team up to join the tournament. Therefore Hartberg, currently Austria’s Beach Volleyball Mecca, is almost ready for the U20 European Championship.
