Romanian and Serbian pairs celebrate U20 Balkan crown

Resita, Romania, July 29, 2012. A duo from Romania and Serbia finished atop of the charts in the women’s and men’s division respectively as the U20 Balkan Beach Volleyball Championship sponsored by Halkbank were completed this past weekend in Resita, Romania.
Serbia’s Surla/Klasnic edged their compatriots Ziroje/Milovic in the men’s final at the end of a thrilling match (23-25, 21-12, and 16-14). The home guys Nan/Chereji of Romania settled for bronze as they cruised past Raev/Kacarov of Bulgaria in straight sets.
The local heroines Rovas/Pop claimed an all-Romanian final in the women’s competition as they scored a speedy 21-18, 21-7 win over their compatriots Bosuioe/Matei. The podium was completed by another Romanian pair as Pujky/Cartis bested Serbia’s Vasic/Stojanovski in straight sets to claim bronze.
