2012 CEV U23 Beach Volleyball European Championship
Assen, Netherlands, July 20, 2012. The best young Beach Volleyball stars in Europe begin this Friday the final quest for the podium at the 2012 CEV U23 Beach Volleyball European Championship. The goal of the remaining teams taking part in the tournament being held in the Dutch city of Assen is to qualify for the semi-finals and fight for the medals.
The 2012 CEV U23 Beach Volleyball European Championship reaches day 3 in Assen and the teams taking the sand in Stadbroek and Koopmansplein venues compete with one idea on their minds: to be in the semi-finals scheduled for this Saturday. After two exciting days, the favourites will try to confirm their candidacies for the title in the matches that will determine the teams that will fight for gold.
It will be an all-German day in Assen, as the representatives for Germany catalyze the attention of the third round games. Both German duos in the men’s competition as well as in the women’s tournament will play against each other in the third round, a situation that secures at least one team from the central European country in the semi-finals. Ukrainian and Polish teams in the men’s competition and Polish and Russian duos in the women’s tournament will try to present the counterbalance to the German predominance.
The eyes of the local audience attending the matches in the venues in Assen will be focused on the performances of the remaining Dutch duos. Vismans/van Werkhoven in the men’s competition and Hullegie/Bons and Braakman/Sinnema in the women’s will try to bring joy to the local spectators in their attempt to qualify for the semi-finals in this spectacular championship.
