Vladimir Grbic helps children from Novi Sad get familiar with Beach Volleyball
2012 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship - Novi Sad Masters
Novi Sad, Serbia, July 6, 2012. As the matches of the Main Draw got started on Friday at Strand beach in Novi Sad, local hero and 2000 Olympic champion Vladimir Grbic was joined by many children who enjoyed the unique opportunity to get acquainted with the ABC of Beach Volleyball via his precious help and valuable tuition. That “Beach Volleyball school” actually follows up on the tremendous success from last year where the clinic placed under the supervision of “Vanja” Grbic got together more than 1’000 kids under 14 years of age.
Once again the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and its general sponsor “Vip mobile” have joined their forces to promote the sport across the young generations, to discover their potential, doing all this for free. “I am pleased to be involved in this project and to work, at least for today, with 110 children that are getting to know Beach Volleyball. If I hadn’t devoted my career exclusively to Volleyball, I certainly would have taken up Beach Volleyball, since this is a very interesting sport” said Grbic, who is currently the Vice President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia as well as a member of the FIVB Development Commission. “The children are having a lot of fun and I am sure that via this action we can discover someone with good potential that one day may represent Serbia internationally” he added. The “Beach Volleyball school” will continue up to the end of the tournament, scheduled for Sunday, July 8, thereby involving many more children from Novi Sad and the neighboring areas.
