Novi Sad Masters got started with Country Quotas
2012 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship - Novi Sad Masters

Novi Sad, Serbia, July 4, 2012. The Novi Sad Masters – third stop of this year’s CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship – got started on Wednesday in the splendid venue right by the banks of the Danube with the Country Quota matches. Serbia and the city of Novi Sad are hosting for the second consecutive year a Masters tournament after they joined the European Beach Volleyball circuit back in 2009 via a Challenger event that was repeated in 2010. The Novi Sad Masters is organized by the Volleyball Federation of Serbia in close cooperation with their general sponsor, the “Vip mobile” company, and once again many decorated teams have found their way to the Strand beach for one of the major highlights of the summer season.
The actions got started on Wednesday with the Country Quotas for Austrian pairs whereby the duo composed by Peter Eglseer and Felix Koraimann advanced to the qualification draw after besting their compatriots Tobias Koraimann/Florian Schnetzer (21-17, 17-21, 15-13) and continuing their run by edging Thomas Kunert/Lorenz Petutschnig, once again in three sets (13-21, 23-21, 15-12).
Eglseer/Koraimann complete the starting field for the qualification whereby 32 pairs will be chasing one of the eight spots available for making it to the Main Draw where 16 teams have been pre-seeded as per their ranking points.

The host country, Serbia, is represented by 4 duos, with three stemming from the city of Novi Sad. Jovan Markovic/Dejan Jovic and Stefan Basta/Igor Tesic have been seeded in the Main Draw and will hence embark on their home adventure only on Friday.
The absolute climax will be celebrated this coming weekend with thousands of fans expected to fill up the stands to full capacity at Strand beach as the local promoters have foreseen a series of side activities and special contests to get everyone involved into a real Beach Volleyball fever.
