Countdown for Serbian Masters has started in Novi Sad
2012 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship - Serbian Masters

Novi Sad, Serbia, June 27, 2012. Elite Beach Volleyball will be returning next week to Serbia and namely to the splendid scenario of the Strand beach in Novi Sad, and for the second consecutive year the event jointly organized by the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and the “Vip mobile” company got the status of a Masters, thereby turning into the third stop of this year’s CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship.
Some of Europe’s best male pairs will get together in Novi Sad through this coming July 4-8 with valuable ranking points as well as prize money at stake there for a total of 25’000 €. The competition draws very much attention from the Beach Volleyball family as a total of 87 teams have registered thereby representing 29 countries (i.e. Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine). The honor of the host country, Serbia, will be defended by 6 duos.

After the major success from last year, Olympic champion Vladimir Grbic – who is also the Vice President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, a member of the FIVB Development Commission and an inductee into the Volleyball “Hall of Fame” – will once again chair some special classes whereby the children coming to the venue of the tournament will be able to get acquainted with the ABC of Beach Volleyball. Last year some 1’000 kids did join this “Volleyball school” and that experience will be open once again to all children under the age of 14 regardless of their Volleyball skills.
Entrance to the venue will be accorded for free and the organizers have foreseen quite many side activities and contests to get the people involved into a real Beach Volleyball “fiesta” in Novi Sad.
