LP SALO and Kralovo Pole BRNO fighting for a place among the top 16 sides in CEV Cup
2018 CEV Volleyball Cup - Women

Salo, Finland, January 9, 2018. After winning the first match in the 16th Finals of the CEV Volleyball Cup away from home (3-0), Finland’s LP SALO should be the big favourites to progress to the next round of the competition. LP SALO head coach Tomi Lemminkäinen however does not want to go any further than to Wednesday night’s match in his and his players’ thoughts.

“The first set in Brno did not show the real status of the opponent, whereas the second and third ones were like we expected the match would be. We have a good feeling in our team. We have taken three points from the first match, so we have two chances now to qualify. This is somehow the best possible situation for us.”

Marek Rojko, Kralovo Pole BRNO head coach: “Both teams lost their respective games last weekend. We have an incredible determination to win, so we still can make it to the next round. We now know our opponents better. Despite this, we are not the favourites.”

Elina Käsnänen, LP SALO captain: “We start from 0-0. It is a new day and a new game. We want to win and make it among the top 16 teams in this competition.”

Ivana Zburova, Kralovo Pole BRNO captain: “We started quite slowly at home, because we did not know our opponents that well. After that, we got better, but it was not enough. I expect a much better performance from this game. LP SALO is an experienced team and they play fast volleyball.”
