Second and third-round Drawing of Lots sets tone for 2018 Champions League
2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men & Women

Luxembourg, June 14, 2017. Only a few weeks away from the unforgettable climax of a highly successful 2017 season, Volleyball fans from all over the world can start looking forward to the 2018 edition of the CEV Volleyball Champions League following completion of the Drawing of Lots for the 2nd and 3rd Rounds of Europe’s elite competition held on Wednesday morning at the CEV headquarters in Luxembourg. The composition of the 4th Round pools will be announced at a later stage, namely at the annual European Volleyball Gala which is due to take place on November 16, 2017.

2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

With 12 teams already seeded in the 4th Round as per the latest European Cups Ranking List, another 20 will be trying to progress to the group stage of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men via the 2nd and 3rd Rounds scheduled for late October / early November. The eight teams joining Europe’s Volleyball elite will be determined by the outcome of the following fixtures:

2nd Round (teams listed first will play the first match at home, home matches October 18, away matches October 22, 2017)

OK Mladost BRCKO (BIH) vs. ACH Volley LJUBLJANA (SLO)
Omonia NICOSIA (CYP) vs. Jedinstvo Bemax BIJELO POLJE (MNE)
Maccabi TEL-AVIV (ISR) vs. Shakhtior SOLIGORSK (BLR)

2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women

With 12 teams already seeded in the 4th Round as per the latest European Cups Ranking List, another 14 will be trying to progress to the group stage of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women via the 2nd and 3rd Rounds scheduled for late October / early November. There are four spots at stake to complete the 16-team 4th Round and these will be taken by those teams successfully making it through the following second and third-round fixtures:

After a major revamping ahead of the 2017 season, no changes at all have been made to the format of the CEV Volleyball Champions League for its 2018 edition, with 20 and 16 teams competing in the men’s and women’s 4th Round respectively. This will be followed by Playoffs 12 and 6 for men and by Playoffs 6 only for women to determine the teams joining the hosts of the Final Four tournaments capping the European Cups season on April 28-29 and May 5-6, 2018 for women and men, respectively.
