Turkish star-studded derby coming up in women’s Playoffs 6!
2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women

Istanbul, Turkey, March 20, 2017. A much anticipated, star-studded Turkish derby is coming up in the Playoffs 6 of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women with reigning club world champions Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL ‘hosting’ city rivals Fenerbahce SK on Thursday night, March 23 at Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall.

Eczacibasi VitrA team captain Neslihan Demir Güler commented ahead of the matchup with Fenerbahce SK: “We played against Fenerbahce in the Turkish national league and we know each other very well. We want to continue our journey in the CEV Volleyball Champions League. We are determined to use the ‘home advantage’ we have in the first match to get an edge before the remake.”

American star player Jordan Larson added: “The first match is always important to get an advantage for the second one, which means every set means a lot to us. There is only two games left to make it to the Final Four. We are working very hard according to our busy game schedule. We want to accomplish another goal that we have set from the beginning of the season.”

This is already the second derby for Eczacibasi VitrA in this year’s CEV Volleyball Champions League after in the group stage they lost twice to city rivals VakifBank ISTANBUL.
