TRENTINO make third straight appearance in European Cups semis to cement status of Volleyball powerhouse
2017 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men

Trento, Italy, March 16, 2017. After claiming the Italian derby with LPR Volley PIACENZA in the quarterfinals, TRENTINO Diatec progressed to the semi-finals of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men. As a result, TRENTINO made it to this stage of a European competition for the third straight year – they did so in the 2015 edition of the CEV Cup and in last year’s CEV Volleyball Champions League as well. TRENTINO will now play Turkey’s Fenerbahce SK ISTANBUL for a spot in the final, first at home on March 28 and then away on April 2.

TRENTINO Diatec are one of the most decorated Volleyball clubs of the last decade – with a list of honours including three straight titles in the CEV Volleyball Champions League from 2009 to 2011 and four FIVB Club World Championship crowns between 2009 and 2012. As far as the CEV Volleyball Champions League is concerned, TRENTINO won bronze in 2012 and silver in 2016 as well – and to their credit, they have a silver medal from the 2015 edition of the CEV Cup. Back then, Matey Kaziyski & Co. lost the final to Dinamo MOSCOW only at the Golden Set.

This means that the Italian team have been – and still are a force to be reckoned with on the international stage. TRENTINO are looking forward to continuing their success story when they play Fenerbahce SK ISTANBUL in the semis of this year’s CEV Cup.
