DRESDNER SC claims ticket to CEV Cup Challenge Round after away victory in France
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Women

Agde, France, December 17, 2013. Germany’s DRESDNER SC completed their adventure in the prelims of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women by routing France’s rookie BEZIERS Volley in straight sets (25-17, 25-18, and 25-20) to claim a spot in the Challenge Round of the 2014 CEV Volleyball Cup. BEZIERS Volley, on the other hand, finished their campaign in the European Cups for this year and could not score a single victory as they debuted in Europe’s elite club competition.
DRESDNER SC started off very strong and the guests could quickly lead the way 8:3 at the first technical time-out. Even though the hosts played with glowing hearts and tried their best to cut the deficit, DRESDNER SC could still set the pace of the game also at the second mandatory stop (16:13). DRESDNER SC did not slow down their pace and comfortably cashed the opening set with the score of 25-17.
The guests from Germany played very aggressive also in the second set, breaking away right from the start (8:4, 12:6) as they were anchored by Rebecca Perry and Lisa Izquierdo. They continued to impose their rhythm also after the second mandatory stop and cruised to the 25-18 that sealed their 2:0 lead in sets.
As they were controlling the game with ease, DRESDNER SC played with evident confidence also in the early phases of the third set where they rapidly moved the score up to 5:1 in their favor. The local heroines of BEZIERS Volley, on the other hand, were making a way too many mistakes and could not stand the excellent team work showed by DRESDNER SC whose attack and defense worked just fine. DRESDNER SC broke away once more at 13:8 but the hosts attempted a late comeback as they reduced their gap to only two points (19:21). That was nevertheless their last moment of glory for DRESDNER SC continued to score and could eventually finish their job in three straight sets (25-20) to celebrate their promotion to the Challenge Round of the CEV Cup.
