RC CANNES and Agel PROSTEJOV to play for qualification to Playoffs 12
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Women
Cannes, France, December 10, 2013. On Thursday RC CANNES and Agel PROSTEJOV will be playing a very important match where the right to make the Playoffs 12 of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women will be at stake. RC CANNES and the Czech champions currently share the same record, i.e. they both have registered two wins and two losses so far in the competition and share second place in Pool D with six points apiece. As they beat Agel in straight sets some weeks ago, RC CANNES is the pre-favorite in the race for the Playoffs 12 but the players from the French Riviera will have to play their best in the fifth and sixth round of the prelims to secure their place in the next round.
“This game is going to decide which side makes the Playoffs” says RC CANNES head coach Yan Fang. “We have got a psychological advantage for we won the away game in the Czech Republic and are also going to play at home. However, we can’t rely on this and we need to show out there on the court that we deserve to qualify to the Playoffs. We are in the middle of very exciting games for we just beat BEZIERS Volley and ASPTT MULHOUSE and are about to enter the deciding stage of the prelims in the Champions League. My players are much focused and want to perform well before the Christmas break. We have no injuries so we can count on the complete roster” concludes the Chinese-born coach.
To support the CEV “Fair Play Volleyball Way” campaign the income of this game will be donated to Amnesty International, the organization that is fighting for preserving and promoting the respect of human rights all over the world.
