SCHWERINER SC lose fourth match in a row to see their European campaign compromised
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Women

Schwerin, Germany, December 4, 2013. Czech champions Agel PROSTEJOV made sure they will finish third in prelim Pool D of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women as they beat once more SCHWERINER SC of Germany to follow up on their home victory from last week. Agel edged Germany’s champions 3:1 (20-25, 25-9, 25-16, and 25-18) to claim their second win in the competition.
Actually the game had started really good for the home side that was anchored by their Brazilian captain Lousi Ziegler. SCHWERINER SC cashed the opening set with the score of 25-20 with an ace by Denise Imoudu (pictured). However, the course of the game changed completely after the first set and PROSTEJOV imposed their rule especially in the second set. They started out with a terrific 10:1 and made no errors, while the home heroines were struggling with their defense. SCHWERINER SC could not find their way back into the game and they eventually lost the game 1:3. This means that also their hopes to make the Challenge Round of the 2014 CEV Volleyball Cup have vanished while PROSTEJOV still keeps some chances to make the Playoffs 12 of Europe’s elite competition with another two rounds to go. Next week SCHWERINER SC will play Pool leaders Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL of Turkey while PROSTEJOV will take on RC CANNES of France. Lousi Ziegler was the best player tonight for Germany’s champions while Katie Carter paced Agel with 16 points.
